Police on manhunt for 9 others linked to petrol station murder

PONTIAN: Police are still hunting for another nine male suspects believed to be involved in the stabbing and murder of a man at the Jalan Sri Pelangi petrol station in Taman Pelangi here last Dec 17.
Johor police chief Commissioner Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said this after delivering his keynote speech to department heads of Johor police contingent at Pontian district police headquarters here today.
"We believe the nine suspects are still in the country," he said and urged those who have information on the case to contact the nearest police station.
He said, police have arrested 15 suspects so far, and two of them, aged 19 and 23, will be charged in court under Section 302 for murder tomorrow.
He said all the suspects are from the same gang and the motive for the killing is believed to be drugs and money.
He said police are still looking for the weapon used in this case, a knife.
"We already know the area where the knife is," he said.
The knife is believed to have been discarded along Jalan Kota Tinggi to Pengerang.
In the Dec 17, 2017 incident, the victim, Tan Aik Chai, 44, also a gang member, was seen in a video being dragged and stabbed by four suspects before he was run over twice by a white car.
