Body of poultry farm hand found with slash wounds

SUNGAI PETANI: The body of a farm worker was found with slash wounds on the neck and head in a poultry farm in Kampung Paya Suri near here last night.
Kuala Muda police chief ACP Saifi Abdul Hamid said police received a call at about 10pm last night on the discovery of a body by a villager who was passing by the area in search of his missing cow.
"Preliminary investigations show a Myanmar man in his 20's was found dead with slash wounds on the neck and head.
"Also found was a machete believed to be the murder weapon," he said in a statement today.
According to him, the Rohingya man who had been working in the farm for seven months, was believed to be living alone and police were investigating the motive of the incident as valuables of the victim were not found missing.
"The remains of the victim have been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star for post-mortem and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said. – Bernama
