PKNK contributes RM20,000 to poor SK Mergong pupils

ALOR STAR: The Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK) has contributed RM20,000 to assist 200 needy students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Mergong under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
PKNK chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said the PKNK CSR programme was aimed target groups as a link and a form of cooperation between PKNK and the community.
"PKNK has selected SK Mergong to receive the aid as it is a transformation school in Kota Star district which uses the 21st Century Learning applications and has the highest enrolment at 1,181 pupils from various economic backgrounds.
"A total of 200 pupils from hardcore poor families and poor single mothers were chosen to receive the assistance comprising RM100 for the purchase of exercise books and payment of other fees," said Ahmad Bashah who is also Kedah Mentri Besar.
He was speaking at the PKNK CSR Programme presentation ceremony at SK Mergong today.
"I hope the assistance will help to inspire pupils to study harder," he said. — Bernama
