PETALING JAYA: In an effort to empower the marginalised community, Yayasan Ozanam will launch the Ozanam Education Programme at Westlane Place located along Jalan Barat on Saturday.
It is a free educational programme which is focused on three key subjects – English, Mathematics and Basic Computer literacy.
The programme will serve as a guide for volunteer teachers in delivering their lessons, and see that a student is not rushed to the next level until the subject being taught is understood.
This is to ensure the student not only learns at his or her own pace but ensures their ability to speak, write and read as well as acquiring skills in computer usage which will give them the edge to enter the working world.
Launching the programme will be Berjaya Corporation Bhd founder and group executive chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan and witnessed by Yayasan Ozanam chairman Datuk Watson Peters.
Yayasan Ozanam is a registered charitable foundation incorporated by the National Society of St Vincent de Paul Malaysia in 1998.
