KUCHING: After one year in office, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Dr Abang Johari Tun Openg has succeeded in introducing several new initiatives while continuing the policies and promises made by former Chief Minister the late Tan Sri Adenan Satem, said Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth chief Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He said that he was confident that all the development plan approaches taken by the sixth Sarawak chief minister would be able to take Sarawak further into becoming a developed and successful state in Malaysia.
He cited the digital economy agenda which Abang Johari has championed in driving the state's progress which according to him had widely been acclaimed as an economic strategy for the future and had received encouraging response especially among youth groups.
"Sarawak BN Youth will repeat our pledge to continue to give full support and help to the Chief Minister in making Sarawak a great place for all," said Fadillah, who is also Works Minister, in a statement here today.
Abang Johari was sworn in as the sixth Sarawak chief minister on Jan 13 last year, succeeding Adenan who died two days earlier at the Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre, due to cardiac complications. — Bernama
