FT Ministry looking into problems faced in people's housing schemes: Ku Nan

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Ministry will be holding a meeting with Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa regarding problems faced by residents of people's housing projects, said its minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
He said the talks would encompass problems related to the buildings and maintenance issues faced by residents of Projek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA), Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1Malaysia (PPA1M) and Rumah Mampu Milik Wilayah Persekutuan (Rumawip) housing schemes.
Among the problems were maintenance fees for halls, the rubbish removal facility, lifts and upkeep of surroundings, he said.
"Such matters must be viewed seriously more so because these housing projects are still new. We understand their grievances and want to resolve them as soon as possible.
"The Barisan Nasional puts the people's interests first and their welfare is paramount," he told reporters after opening the inaugural annual general meeting of the residents association (RA) of PPA1M Palma, Presint 11 here today.
Also present was Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president, Datuk Seri Hasim Ismail.
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan urged owners of PR1MA, PPA1M and Rumawip homes to set up RAs to voice out problems and suggestions so that these could be addressed quickly.
"Among others they can discuss matters like setting up a kindergarten or nurseries. RAs help promote harmonious living whereby residents look out for each other which is badly needed in an urban setting," he said. — Bernama
