Team Asia continues strong performance

SHAH ALAM: Team Asia continued their strong performance at the 2018 EurAsia Cup golf championship with another three points in the foursome format (alternate shot) on the second day of competition.
They currently lead the competition which is being held at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club with six-and-a-half points after two days, while Team Europe also added three points to settle with five-and-a-half points.
However, Team Europe started the ball rolling by claiming their first point through England's Tommy Fleetwood and Sweden's Henrik Stenson who defeated the Indian duo of S. S. P. Chowrasia and Anirban Lahiri, 3&2.
It was followed by the English duo of Paul Casey and Tyrrell Hatton who beat Team Asia's Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Thailand) and An Byeong-hun (South Korea), 2&1 and England's Matthew Fitzpatrick and Belgium's Thomas Pietrers who defeated Thailand's Poom Saksansin and South Korea's Kang Sung-hoon, 3&2.
Team Asia claimed their points through Malaysia's Gavin Kyle Green and Japan's Yuta Ikeda after beating Spain's Rafa Cabrera Bello and France's Alexander Levy by 1 Up.
The other two points won by Team Asia are from Thailand's Phachara Khongwatmai and Japan's Hideto Tanihara who beat Ireland's Paul Dunne and Sweden's Alex Noren with 2&1 scores while China's Li Haotong and Malaysia's Nicholas Fung outclassed England's Ross Fisher and Austria's Bern Wiesberger, 3&1. — Bernama
