Search for victim feared dead at Gunung Nuang still ongoing

KUALA LUMPUR: Rescue teams are still trying to bring out a victim who was feared dead after being buried by earth at the summit of Gunung Nuang, Hulu Langat near here this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Head of Operations Management and Station, Alimaddia Bukri said the 47-year-old victim who was with other hikers was believed to have slipped into a ravine which was about 100m deep.
"At 6.40pm, rescue teams arrived at Lolo Camp before proceeding to climb to the scene which took about six hours," he said in a statement here tonight.
Rescue teams comprising Royal Malaysian Police, Fire and Rescue Department and the Public Defence Force were alerted of the incident at 1.30pm and had gone to the peak at 3.10pm to bring down the victim. — Bernama
