Woman who suffered heart attack while scaling Gunung Yong Yap rescued

GUA MUSANG: A woman who suffered a heart attack while hiking up Gunung Yong Yap, Lojing here yesterday was rescued today.
Gua Musang district police chief Supt Mohd Taufik Maidin said the victim, Rahimah Saadun, 31, from Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur was brought down by rescuers from the mountain at 7 am before being taken to the Gua Musang Hospital for further treatment.
"It is learnt that the victim suffered a heart attack at about 9.30pm. We received a distress call on the incident at 9.55 pm.
"The rescue team comprising five policemen, eight Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station personnel and four Malaysian Civil Defence Force personnel was immediately dispatched to the scene," he said when contacted here today.
Mohd Taufik advised climbers to inform the nearest police station before starting mountain hiking to facilitate search and rescue operations in the event of untoward incidents. — Bernama
