KUALA BERANG: A Form Five student who fell from the 1st floor of a building at her school here yesterday is believed to have been suffering from hysteria.
Hulu Terengganu police chief DSP Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the senior assistant of the school lodged a police report on the incident at 7.20am.
"According to our investigations, the student had just enrolled in the school on Jan 3. Before that she was enrolled at a school in Kuala Terengganu. Her younger sibling aged 16 was entrusted with looking after her.
"The student has been brought to the Hulu Terengganu Hospital for further checks but we have yet to receive an update on her status," he said in a statement.
The medical report on her injuries was also not yet available as the girl was still awaiting an X-ray.
The girl's father, who did not want to be identified, said she had been suffering from depression since she was 15, and had once been sent to a madrasah in Hulu Terengganu for rehabilitation purposes.
"There were no witnesses when she fell ... we also don't know whether she collapsed at the railing or fell down from the first floor. We are awaiting the report from experts.
"She only suffered facial injuries which were not serious ... now when I ask her about the incident, she can't remember anything ... but God willing if everything is alright, she can come home tomorrow," he said. — Bernama
