Man charged for murder of girlfriend's son

KULAI: A man was charged for the murder of his girlfriend's son at the magistrate's court here.
Mosas Saatu, 24, was charged under Section 302 of Penal code, which carries the death sentence upon conviction.
He was alleged to have caused the death of Paul Ebinesan Jayan, a two-year-old toddler, at the Temenggong Flats at Jalan Perak 1, Kulai, between 5.30pm and 7pm on Jan 3.
No plea was recorded from the accused who is jobless.
The court was told that the prosecution is still waiting for the post-mortem report in the case.
Kulai court assistant registrar Mohammad Salehuddin Abd Sani fixed March 28 for mention.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Qaiyyum Ramlan appeared for the prosecution.
The toddler who was found with severe bruising all over his body, succumbed to his injuries at the Kulai hospital on Jan 3.
