TANJUNG MALIM: Teachers in this country should always remember that the future of its prospective leaders lies in their hands, says Kirkby International College (KIC) president, Bismillah Khatoon Abdul Kader.
She opined that teachers should, therefore, teach their students the importance of preserving peace and of voicing their ideas and thoughts articulately.
"Teachers should show their students how to state their ideas decorously, using gentle, persuasive words as this way is better than being harsh," she said.
Bismillah Khatoon was speaking at the convocation ceremony for the graduands of a teacher training programme between KIC and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), here, today.
At the ceremony, 285 graduands received their scrolls for the Bachelor of Education (Primary School) with Honours, and they were the last cohort for the UPSI-KIC franchise programme.
Bismillah Khatoon congratulated the graduates and hoped they would work at achieving higher academic qualifications.
"Their joy today is shared by their parents and/or spouses whose support and sacrifices have enabled them to pursue their studies at university with success," she said. — Bernama
