SUNGAI PETANI: The Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders cannot be complacent with their position in the country's administration as the people will determine their victory in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), said Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
Hence, he said, the BN machinery needed to move closer to the people at all levels to gain solid support from them in ensuring the continuity of the BN government after the GE14.
"Because the world landscape has changed, this is not unique to our country alone, if we look at what is happening in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East, even in world history there was no leader who took it easy on their position.
"That's why I reminded the machinery to reach out to young people, teachers and others who are not our members. Our best choice in Malaysia is BN," he told reporters after launching the Kedah BN machinery here today.
Also present was Kedah Menteri Besar Kedah and state BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
Meanwhile, Hishammuddin was confident the Kedah BN leadership would be able to face any challenges in the GE14 due to the perseverance of BN leaders and grassroot members to ensure the victory of BN candidates despite their loyalty being tested ahead of GE14. — Bernama
