TANJUNG MALIM: Eight My Hot Spot sites that will benefit over 100 food truck entrepreneurs would be set up nationwide this year, according to Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
He said the locations selected were mostly public places and tourist attractions, such as near the Light Rail Transit (LRT) station in Wangsa Maju and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and in Klebang beach, Malacca.
The minister said this after launching and handing over the first My Hot Spot site, which was set up at the Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic (PSAS) in Behrang here, today.
"We hope this site will benefit the visitors, in particular the students. And if MyHotSpot@PSAS achieves its targets and objectives, we may set up more sites at institutions of higher education," he said.
My Hot Spot is one of the implementation scopes of Food Truck 1Malaysia (FT1M) initiatives under the 1Malaysia Hawkers Programme announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak during the tabling of the 2018 Budget, involving an allocation of RM120 million. — Bernama
