New 'Pasar Awam Sejahtera' a proof of BN's concern for the people in Semporna

SEMPORNA: Construction of the new 'Pasar Awam Sejahtera', which is expected to be completed in 18 months, is another proof of the Barisan Nasional's (BN) concern for the needs of the people in Semporna.
State Assistant Minister of Finance, Datuk Ramlee Marahaban said the project, costing RM8 million and equipped with various facilities, would certainly provide convenience and comfort to the people.
"The new market, to be built on a 1.5 acre of land, will provide 171 tables for fish, chicken and meat, vegetable and dried seafood traders.
"Priority will be given to Semporna traders," he said when handing over the warrant for the project to the contractor involved here today.
He said the market was among various projects would be implemented to develop and transform Semporna.
Ramlee, who is also Sabah Umno deputy head of information, said today's event dismissed claims by the opposition that plans to develop Semporna by the BN government were merely a gimmick.
He said the BN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman was always committed in keeping its promises.
"We (BN) always take into account the long-term benefits for the people in every development that is planned or implemented.
"What the people should understand is that all the plans need time to be implemented and BN only promise things that could be done," he added. — Bernama
