ATM nabs four Myanmar illegal immigrants at Bukit Kayu Hitam

ALOR STAR: The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) through the 5th Border Regiment detained four illegal immigrants from Myanmar who attempted to enter the country via a border checkpoint in Bukit Kayu Hitam this morning.
The Royal Malaysian Army 6th Brigade commander General Abdul Aziz Ismail said the four men aged between 16 and 28 were apprehended under 'Ops Serkap' near Pos 1 in Bukit Kayu Hitam headed by Second Lt Muhammad Shafiq with several personnel at about 9am.
"The 5th Border Regiment saw four men walking towards the border gate in a suspicious manner and approached the foreigners for inspection but they fled and hid in a nearby bush before they were captured," he said in a statement today.
Abdul Aziz said an inspection on the foreigners, found 5,000 Kyat (Myanmar currency) which is equivalent to RM14.50, three personal identification documents, clothes, medicines and their bags.
He said the men were brought to Bukit Kayu Hitam police station for further action. — Bernama
