Perak Gerakan to field 60% new faces

TELUK INTAN: Gerakan will be featuring 60% new faces including women and youths in seven traditional parliamentary and state seats in Perak in the coming general election, according to its president, Datuk Mah Siew Keong.
He said the parliamentary seats were Teluk Intan, Beruas and Taiping, while the state seats were Aulong, Taiping; Jalong, Sungai Siput; Kuala Sepetang, Bukit Gantang and Taman Canning in Ipoh.
"We have submitted the list of candidates to the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak) as BN chairman and Perak Mentri Besar (Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir) recently.
"Whether we will retain the seats for election, will be left to the BN chairman for the final decision," he said.
Mah who is also Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister told reporters after handing over contribution of spectacles to 780 senior citizens in the Teluk Intan parliamentary constituency, here today. — Bernama
