Despatch rider charged with CBT of over RM23,000

PETALING JAYA: A despatch rider at a law firm pleaded not guilty in the magistrate's court here today to committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving more than RM23,000 belonging to his employer six years ago.
Rozain Hussin, 46, made the plea before Magistrate Nur Shahirah Abdul Salim.
He was charged, as a despatch rider at Messrs Majid & Chen then, with committing CBT of RM23,623 entrusted to him by the law firm for payment of land title registration, mortgage and stamping for its clients.
The offence was allegedly committed at the company's office at First Subang, Jalan SS15/4G, Subang Jaya, here.
The charge, under Section 407 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to 10 years and whipping, and fine, if found guilty.
Rozain, who was unrepresented, was not allowed bail as his bailor was not in court.
Deputy public prosecutor Abu Arsalnaa Zainal Abidin prosecuted.
