NEW animated comedy adventure DuckTales will premiere Jan 21 in a one-hour television movie, titled Woo-oo! at 10am on Disney Channel and Disney XD (Astro channel 615 and 617 respectively).
The series will premiere on Jan 26 at 4pm on Disney Channel and available On Demand.
This series premiere follows the 30th anniversary of the original Emmy Award-winning series and highlights the comedy adventures of Duckburg's most epic family of ducks, including Scrooge McDuck, triplets Huey, Dewey, Louie and Donald Duck.
The Woo-oo movie shows Donald Duck reluctantly taking Huey, Dewey and Louie to the home of their reclusive great-uncle Scrooge McDuck.
Enthralled by their once-legendary great-uncle and the wonder of McDuck Manor, the triplets and Webby learn of long-kept family secrets and unleash totems from Scrooge's epic past, sending the family on an adventure of a lifetime to the Lost City of Atlantis.
The voice cast is David Tennant (Doctor Who) as Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi (Community) as Huey, Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as Dewey, Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) as Louie, Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates) as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live) as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye (Castle) as Mrs. Beakley and Tony Anselmo (Mickey Mouse) as Donald Duck.
Disney Malaysia staff paid a visit to theSun office to promote the show, bringing along goodies that included 'gold'-coated chocolate coins, as well as a special visit by Donald Duck himself.
A trio of a capella singers also regaled the office with a rendition of the show's memorable theme song.
To further celebrate the series launch, local Disney fans can expect a host of fun-filled activities, on- and off-air, themed under a WOO-OO campaign. From a localised music video to wacky social contests to onground mall fun, there will be lots to WOO-OO about in Malaysia this January!
To kick off the month of WOO-OO, Disney Channel released a revamped, fun, localised version of the classic DuckTales theme song featuring the hugely popular Club Mickey Mouse Mouseketeers as well as Disney Channel hosts Brandon & Badricka, and local celebrities Jenn Chia and Ismail Izzani.
From imitating Donald Duck to doing the duckface, Malaysian fans can get into the WOO-OO spirit with the DuckTales #WooMoments social media contest.
Through month-long WOO-OO challenges, kids and families will be able to participate with a photo or video submission and hashtag #WooMoments on Disney Channel Asia's Facebook page (Facebook.com/DisneyChannelAsia) for a chance to be featured on Disney Channel!
Making its way from Duckberg to Sunway Pyramid (Kuala Lumpur) from Jan 19 to Feb 6 , fans will have the chance to jump into Scrooge's Money Bin for their chance to win a family trip to Hong Kong Disneyland and make DuckTales themed angbaos and lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year. Kids and families will also get the chance to meet Donald Duck on Jan 20 and Jan 21.
