Police seize ketum juice in Ipoh

IPOH: Police seized 440 plastic packets of ketum juice and 300 of ketum leaves at a house in Taman Pakatan Jaya here late yesterday.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Mohd Ali Tamby said police also detained five men, aged between 26 and 35, in the raid which was conducted about 11pm.
"Three of them were in the living room, placing the ketum water in plastic packets, while two others were in the kitchen boiling the ketum leaves.
"The police also found four baskets containing 440 plastic packets, believed to contain ketum juice, and another four baskets containing green-coloured leaves, believed to be ketum, weighing 30kg, he said in a statement here today.
He said police also seized a weighing machine, two gas canisters, two stoves and other equipment used to process the ketum juice. — Bernama
