Court studied CCTV footage of Jong-Nam killing

SHAH ALAM: The prosecution submitted more than 70 clips of CCTV footage of the events surrounding the death of Kim Jong-Nam which was today admitted as evidence by the High Court.
The 31st witness in the trial, Gateway klia2 security supervisor Syed Fakhruzaman Mohd Mokhtar, 49, testified that he had supplied 10 DVDs containing these clips to lead investigating officer ASP Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz between February and March, last year, following the apparent murder of the North Korean.
Syed Fakhruzaman, along with the rest of the courtroom, painstakingly went through each clip showing the movements of the suspects, including the four North Koreans wanted in connection with the murder, throughout the klia2 airport.
The process of verification and eventual submission of evidence conducted by deputy public prosecutor Syed Farid Syed Ali took the entire court session, before the sitting was finally adjourned by High Court Judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin.
The trial is expected to resume on Jan 29.
Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 29, along with four others still at large, were charged with the murder of Kim Chol, 45, at the KL International Airport 2 (klia2) departure hall at 9am on Feb 13 last year.
Jong-nam, who traveled with a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol, died while on the way to the Putrajaya Hospital. He arrived in the country on Feb 6.
It was reported that Jong-nam was at klia2 on Feb 13 to board a flight to Macau when two women approached and suddenly wiped his face with toxic liquid which was later identified as the VX nerve agent.
The murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
