BUKIT MERTAJAM: Parti Cinta Malaysia leader Datuk Huan Cheng Guan has promised to continue to remain outspoken despite receiving a death threat via SMS.
Huan claimed he had received a death threat, which warned him: "Cakap banyak, kau mati" (You talk too much, you are a dead man).
The SMS originated from an unknown number to his mobile smartphone when he was at a local bank in Autocity Juru about 3pm on Tuesday.
He said he had replied to the unknown number jotting down "Hang mati dulu aku pun belum mati lah. Stupid" (Even if you die first, I wouldn't have died yet. Stupid)."
He replied about 3.50pm on the same day.
However, the anonymous sender did not reply.
"I have decided to lodge a police report today for safety purposes. Many friends and the public via my Facebook page have advised me to lodge a police report. Therefore, I hope the police will take immediate action to investigate the matter," he told reporters after lodging a police report at 9.22am at Central Seberang Perai district police headquarters, Bandar Perda here today.
Huan added it was the first time he had received the death threat from an unknown person.
Asked if perhaps the death threat was linked to the proposed undersea tunnel, he said he did not know.
However, he confided that he had revealed a lot about the alleged scandals of the Penang state government including the unlawful Volunteer Patrol Team (PPS) and also Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's controversial purchase of a bungalow.
The former army officer stressed that he did not feel afraid over the death threat, and it would not stop him from continuing to reveal more scandals for the sake of Penangites.
