KUALA KANGSAR: A man who claimed to be a Singapore policeman was arrested by police at a cafe in Jalan Bercham here, last night.
Perak Police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said police arrested the 47-year-old local man at about 7.30pm, seizing from him a fake pistol and the handcuffs from his waist.
"We will contact Singapore Police today to find out whether the cafe operator is their member or not. If not, he will be charged for having a fake pistol," he told reporters after attending the Perak Contingent's monthly assembly at Kuala Kangsar District Police Headquarters, here today.
On another matter, Hasnan said a total of 8,500 police officers and policemen would be deployed during the 14th General Election (GE14).
"We have listed all the areas as hotspots until parliament is dissolved as only then, we can identify the real hotspots," he added.
Perak Police held a GE14 simulation on December 15, 2017, and will hold another simulation next month. — Bernama
