256 people receive Negri Sembilan awards, medals

KUALA PILAH: Yang Dipertuan Besar Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir today presented awards and medals in an investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 70th birthday celebration at Istana Seri Menanti, here.
Heading the list of 256 recipients is Negri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council secretary Kamal Amran Kamarudin who received the Darjah Setia Bakti Negri Sembilan (DBNS) which carries the title Datuk.
The others were Risda deputy director-general (Development), Nasarudin Malek, social activist Liang Tian Choon, Universiti Putra Malaysia's Sports Academy director, Prof Dr K.Shamala, social activist Syed Mohd Ali Syed Mohamed, NSCMH Medical Centre director Dr A. Thavanaison, Kolej Legenda lecturer S. Viswanathan and businessman Zainal Abd Ghani.
Nine people from various background received the Darjah Setia Negri Sembilan (DNS) including Universiti Binary's International Collaboration director, A. Gilbert and Seremban Petty Traders Association committee member, Chang Seng Yan.
Three people received the Darjah Pekerti Terpilih (DPT), including State Department of Social Welfare director Mohamad Hapil and State Department of Environment director Norhazni Mat Sari, while 40 people received the Ahli Setia Negri Sembilan (ANS).
Tuanku Muhriz also presented 69 people with the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang Masyarakat (PMC), 123 people with the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) while four people with the Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL).
Tunku Ampuan Besar Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud also attended the investiture ceremony held at the Balairong Seri, Istana Seri Menanti.
Also present were Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and his wife Datin Seri Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumuddin. — Bernama
