Guard catches two Burmese youths breaking into factory

BUTTERWORTH: Two Burmese youths have been caught red-handed by a factory guard for breaking into the premise at Mak Mandin here.
It is learnt the incident happened about 4.05am today when a police team on patrol duty received a police report that the guard had detained the duo aged 12 and 14-years-old, at the premise.
North Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the guard had caught the duo red-handed when both of them were climbing over the gate about 50m away from the guard house.
"Based on initial investigation, they are from Myanmar. One of them has a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) card while the other suspect does not have any identification document.
Noorzainy said the teenagers have been remanded for 14 days to assist in investigations.
He said police would investigate the case under Section 447 of the Penal Code for trespassing and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not having valid travel documents.
