Go For It-FTKLAA- 33rd Cross Country 2018 to be held at Tasik Perdana

KUALA LUMPUR: The Go For It-FTKLAA- 33rd Cross Country 2018 will be held at the Tasik Perdana KL (Lake Gardens) – which is the place the event was first held in 1985.
Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association (FTKLAA) honorary secretary Datuk S. Vegiyathuman said the event would see 30% to 40% routes covered in semi-forest, up and down slopes, concrete staircases, cordoned off grass paths and beside the lake.
"This year we are going back to the venue where we started 32 years ago.
He was speaking at the launch of the Go For It- FTKLAA- 33rd Cross Country 2018 at the Olympic Sports Council here.
Also present at the launch was FTKLAA president Leo Leslie Armstrong and Sports Toto communications manager Giam Say Khoon.
Giam said this is the fourth time that Sports Toto Sdn Bhd has come forward to become the title sponsor.
He added that running events have not only become the first choice for Malaysians in maintaining a healthy lifestyle but also a platform for sporting enthusiasts to win more medals and certificates.
"Cross country requires extra strength, stamina and determination when compared with other running events.
"In an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle and give back to society, we are proud to be the title sponsor for the event," Giam said.
The event features 10km, 6km and 5km categories for both men and women.
It is limited to only 2,000 entries and is open to Malaysians and foreigners with PR status aged seven and above.
The top five contestants in each category will receive cash prizes of up to RM11,000.
