Over 15,000 visitors expected for FT Day carnival

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 15,000 revellers are expected to throng Merdeka Square here to enliven the 2018 Federal Territories Day carnival on Feb 10.
The programme, organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and scheduled to start as early as 7am and last until midnight, is open to everyone.
DBKL Culture, Arts, Tourism and Sports Department director Khairul Anuar Mhd Juri said the event would be imbued with the concept of unity, understanding and strengthening of relations, regardless of race and religion.
He said numerous interesting activities would be provided for the public including zumba, traditional game contests, Xtreme Games competition (skateboard/BMX) and a concert as the apex event of the carnival.
"The concert, which is scheduled to take place at 8.45pm, will showcase 10 nationally renowned artistes who will be accompanied by Kumpulan Orkestra Kuala Lumpur," he told a media conference here today.
He said among the artists who would be performing are Black, Zamani (Slam), Siti Noordiana, Amelina, Liza Hanim, Elda Susanti, Hazami, Lan Solo, Nabila Razali and Bunkface.
Besides sport events and the concert, Khairul said the concert would also be made more merry with side events throughout the day, namely, KL Street Artistes' performances (buskers, artists, clowns, magicians, handicraft), 'Inflatable Games' for children and Food Trucks. – Bernama
