Tenaga Nasional shares up on jump in earnings

PETALING JAYA: Shares of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) rose as much as 1.8% to a high of RM16.12 this morning following a 23.6% jump in its quarterly net profit ended November 30, 2017.
At 11.20am, the stock gained 6 sen or 0.4% to RM15.90, with some 1.5 million shares changing hands.
TNB's three-month net profit stood at RM2.15 billion, mainly supported by foreign exchange gain amounting to RM293.9 million.
Revenue for the quarter also increased 3.3% to RM11.61 billion on the back of higher sales of electricity.
