MBI International launches music album, comedy series

KULIM: Digital currency provider MBI International today launched a Chinese New Year music album and comedy series.
Titled "Fu Qi Ling Men Wang Wang Lai" the album comprises 11 songs which features artists such as OMG Girl Group, Mieeya Tan, On MUSE, ON FM, MUSE GIRLS and also the the company's own MBI stars.
The album also includes the musical contributions of its talented founder and chairman Teddy Teow.
Teow who was present during the launch of the music album and comedy series congratulated his team for successfully producing the music album and comedy series.
"I hope everyone will enjoy what has been produced by the great talent in the series and album," he said at the launch held at the MBI Convention centre in Taman MBI Desaku, Kulim, Kedah.
Fu Qi Ling Men Wang Wang Lai was released following the success of a previous album three years ago which contained music videos that were filmed in China.
Filmed around the MBI Desaku mixed housing developments in Kulim and Penang, the comedy series is about a character called Ma Shang (played by Teow) who, with assistance from his children, attempts to locate a long lost friend nicknamed Kitchen God.
The series will be released online between Feb 6 and 15 Feb with each episode ranging from three to five minutes long. Meanwhile copies of the album will be sold from Feb 1 onwards at RM25 each.
Speaking to reporters after the launch, Teow said the company is currently focused on developing its business in Kulim and at the same time target to help troubled farming activities in Kulim.
He said the company has embarked on a project called 1 Village 1 Product (1K1P) which aims to help small scale farmers in rural area especially in the northern region through a profit sharing concept business in utilizing abandoned agriculture land.
"We aim to help farmers who have the land but don't have the resources and technology to cultivate the land.
"We are willing to help them in term of finance, technology and what have been cultivated, we will buy it all at market value, the villagers only have to own the land and we can help them," he said.
He added that currently four agriculture farms in Kulim had been collaborating with company and he hopes that more farmers who need the expertise can come forward.
