Trio charged over heroin trafficking

IPOH: Three friends were brought to the magistrate's court here today on two counts of trafficking in heroin weighing 5,886 kg at Jalan Jelapang, here, two weeks ago.
However, no plea was recorded after the charges were read out to S. Devasivasharman, 21, P. P. P. Muniswaran, 43, and G. Kalaiyarasan, 46, before Magistrate Nurul Hafizah Mohammad Pauzi.
On the first and second charge, they were accused of trafficking in 262gm and 3194.30gm of heroin at No 577A, Jalan Jelapang, Jelapang, here at 12.30pm on Jan 17.
Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Qistina Qamar L Abrar prosecuted while lawyers Charan Singh and Jagdave Singh represented the three accused.
The court fixed Mar 28 for remention. — Bernama
