BACHOK: The campaign advocated by certain quarters calling for voters to spoil their votes in the 14th general election (GE14) shows their unprofessional attitude and a total disregard of the people's right to decide for their future.
Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said in the country that practices parliamentary democracy, the voice of the people must be given priority and respected.
"The move to spoil the votes will imply that the voters no longer believe in themselves and have lost focus," he told reporters at the Kelantan Students Special Retreat and Leadership Course at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan here today.
He said this in response to the #UndiRosak or #SpoiltVote and #ProtesPRU campaign which had gone viral on social media.
In KUANTAN, Pahang BN chairman, Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob described the campaign as an effort to sabotage the GE14 and to reduce the people's support for BN, especially among the young generation.
"Don't bother about the campaign ... let's just do our work, do it sincerely to ensure that the people are satisfied with our service. I'm sure the people can judge it for themselves," he told the reporters after the meet-and-greet event with the General Operations Force Southeast Brigade personnel at the Galing Camp here today.
Also present were Pahang Police chief Datuk Seri Rosli Abdul Rahman and Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Roslan Bek Ahmad.
At the event, Adnan, who is also Pahang Mentri Besar, also announced an allocation of RM50,000 for the brigade and RM10,000 for each battalion under the brigade. — Bernama
