Three-year-old drowns in water theme park

ALOR STAR: A three year-old-old boy was found drowned in a water theme park in Sungai Petani today.
Kuala Muda police chief ACP Saifi Abdul Hamid said in the 1.55pm incident, the victim, Hafidh Dhabit Hasrul Nizam, was found drowned after swimming with his family in a 1.2m deep pool.
"The victim went to the theme park with his family to celebrate his father's office family day. His father, Hasrul Nizam Che Hassan, 44, had left him under the care of his three siblings to buy food for them.
"Upon Hasrul Nizam's return, he was shocked to find his youngest child being given CPR in the effort to revive him," he said in a statement.
Saifi said following failed efforts to revive the victim, he was sent to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital, in Sungai Petani, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The case has been classified as sudden death and post-mortem conducted revealed that the victim died due to drowning. — Bernama
