11 deaths due to dengue in 2018: Health Ministry

PETALING JAYA: Eleven people have succumbed to dengue across the country from the period of January 1 to 20.
According to the Health Ministry's website, iDengue: http://idengue.remotesensing.gov.my/idengue/, a total of 4,835 dengue cases have been reported nationwide as of Wednesday.
Statistics derived from the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre's website showed Selangor continues to hold the top spot with 2,411 cases, followed by Johor with 561 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 368, Penang with 345 and Sabah with 341 for the period starting Dec 31, 2017.
Among the dengue hotspots identified in Selangor include Hulu Langat (Pandan Perdana; Taman Impian Ehsan; Taman Setia Balakong 2; Jalan Penghulu Bandar Mahkota; Kem PGA Batu 7) Klang, (Taman Klang Perdana;Port Klang; Taman Melawati Bukit Kapar; Pangsapuri Rebana; Persiaran Hamzah Alang), Petaling (Impian Baiduri Flat; Taman Sri Serdang 4; Section U19; Section 24; Section U7; Section U6 and Palm Spring Condo) and Gombak (Bandar Tasik Puteri and Desa 1 Apartment).
In Johor Baru, the hotspots include Taman Pulai Utama; Taman Air Biru; Kampung Pasir Putih and Flat Peringkat 3.
Other hotspots are PKNS Flat and Desa Setiawira in Kuala Lumpur; Taman Terubong Indah in Penang; and Kampung Baru Pasir Putih and Putera Jaya Telipok in Sabah.
