Two men in remand over splashing of paint at Customs officer's house

KLANG: Two men are in remand for four days beginning today in connection with the splashing of red paint on a house belonging to a senior officer of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department in Port Klang here last December.
The remand order against the two men, aged 48 and 49, was issued by Klang magistrate's court assistant registrar Azimah Mohd Yusof.
In the incident which occurred at 2.10am last Dec 9, two men, both wearing crash helmet, were alleged to have splashed red paint at the Customs officer's house in Taman Telok Gedong Indah, Port Klang.
The case was being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to five years, or fine, or both, upon conviction.
South Klang district police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli, in a statement yesterday, said the suspects were arrested last Monday for investigation into another act of mischief, involving the torching of four cars belonging to a senior Customs officer in Putrajaya.
In the incident which occurred last Jan 23, four vehicles belonging to the family of Customs Senior Assistant Director Nur Azman Mat Jini were torched at 3.30am in front of his living quarters at Precinct 11 in Putrajaya. The fire also almost destroyed the front portion of the living quarters. — Bernama
