Video of Sandakan student getting beaten up goes viral.

A VIDEO showing a group of students chasing and assaulting a teenager in Sandakan township has gone viral.
In the video, a group of students were seen taking turns to beat up a teenager while about a dozen or so people looked on without intervening.
Eight form five students believed to be involved in the incident have been detained by the police.
Sandakan police chief Asst Comm Mohd Azhar Hamin said the incident occurred on Monday at about 1pm near Harbour Square.
The incident is believed to have started when a male student allegedly made fun of another student after uploading his photo on WeChat.
Both students involved are from two different schools and they will be called in to help with investigations.
Further action will be taken by the schools as well.
