AirAsia launches third direct route from KL to Philippines

    DAVAO: AirAsia has launched its third direct route to the Philippines, with a new route connecting Kuala Lumpur to Davao city in the Philippines.
    The budget carrier said in a statement that the new route will see “four times weekly flights” between Kuala Lumpur and Davao.
    “AirAsia is excited about our first international route to Davao. We do not only connect Davao to Malaysia, but we also bring Davao closer to our extensive network of destinations ‎in Asean, Northeast Asia, South Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and the US,” said AirAsia deputy group CEO of digital, transformation, corporate services Aireen Omar.
    “We are committed to growing tourism beyond the most famous tourism hotspots. We look forward to work closely with the Davao city mayor, airport authorities and government bodies to put Davao on the map of must-visit destinations in Asean,” she added.
    This marks the third direct route from Malaysia to the Philippines, after Kuala Lumpur-Manila and Kuala Lumpur-Cebu.
