Police bust burglary gang in Bintulu

BINTULU: Bintulu police have arrested three local men believed to be involved in three cases of house and shop break-ins around Tanjung Batu in a raid yesterday evening.
Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkifli Suhaili said the first suspect, 37, was nabbed at 4.30pm yesterday in Tanjung Batu while attempting to gain entry into an office, and he led police to the second suspect and third suspects, aged 22 and 24, in Park City on the same day.
"When the first suspect was apprehended, police recovered several items including a motorcycle, two mobile phones, two screwdrivers and three pawn shop receipts," he said in a statement today.
Zulkifli said police seized two laptops, two mobile phones, three cameras, one tablet, 19 sets of keys and remote controls for various brands of cars from the second and third suspects.
"All suspects were remanded until Feb 5 and the case would be investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code," he added. — Bernama
