Newborn baby boy thrown away like trash

BALIK PULAU: A newborn baby boy with its umbilical cord still attached was found abandoned near some bushes at an empty house in Kuala Sungai Pinang here today.
Southwest district police chief Supt A. A. Anbalagan said the baby was discovered by a 56-year-old man in a black rubbish bag at about 11.40am.
"The man who lived in the village found the baby in a black plastic bag," he said.
theSun learnt that the man then alerted the villagers who informed police about the discovery.
Anbalagan added that the baby who weighed about 1.9 kg was taken to the Balik Pulau Hospital for a medical examination.
He urged anyone with information on the infant to come forward to assist in investigations by contacting the nearest police station.
The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for exposure and abandonment of a child under 12 years of age.
