KEPALA BATAS: PAS will form two Cabinets at the federal government level if it comes into power after the next general election.
Speaking at a dialogue session with Indian non-governmental organisations here today, party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said different races will play different roles in the federal government which will be led by PAS.
The first cabinet, Hadi said, will decide on national policies and must be people who know the national ideology and faith.
"This cabinet will appoint an executive cabinet to carry out the policies and it can include non-Muslims based on their expertise," he added.
On GE14, Hadi said PAS had finalised its candidates to contest in the polls.
The Islamist party will field more young candidates to replace the older generation of leadership.
Hadi, who is Marang MP, said the candidates will include new faces from its Youth and Women wing as well as non-Muslim candidates from its Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS (DHPP).
On a related matter, Penang PAS commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusof revealed that Permatang Pasir assemblyman Datuk Salleh Man will not defend his state constituency in GE14.
He said the party had already identified a new candidate who has been approved by the Syura Council.
Muhammad Fauzi however said Salleh is still a PAS member and the party decided to drop him as they wanted a fresh face to bring the voice of Islam to the State Legislative Assembly.
Salleh, the sole PAS state assemblyman in Penang, is perceived as too friendly with the DAP-led state administration.
