Actor in remand for drug case

PETALING JAYA: An actor has been remanded for three days starting today to facilitate investigation on a drug case.
The order was issued by the Petaling Jaya Court assistant registrar Hairul Azhar Mohd Ishak following an application by the police for investigation under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for self-administration of a drug.
The actor, who is from Terengganu, was arrested at the Mutiara Damansara police station last night when he went to give a statement in connection with a police report lodged by Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari, 37, last Jan 31.
In the report, Farid claimed that three of his artist friends were believed to have mixed drugs in his drinks and which causes him to act wild and was later arrested by the police in regards the incident at the Kota Damansara police station last month. — Bernama
