JOHOR BARU: Two policemen were detained by the Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today to facilitate investigations into a monthly bribe case.
The detention of the duo, a Corporal and a Lance Corporal followed the arrest of another L/Corporal yesterday, according to a reliable source.
Both personnel were believed to have received a share of the alleged RM700 monthly bribe in November and December 2017 and January 2018 as inducement not to take action against an employer who had taken undocumented foreign workers as construction labourers around Pagoh.
The two suspects aged 50 and 28 were detained at the MACC Batu Pahat office around 4 pm.
Meanwhile, the first suspect who was arrested yesterday has been remanded for four days from today on suspicion of corruptly receiving RM700 monthly from a contractor's staff since November 2017 till January 2018.
Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the arrests when contacted but declined to elaborate. — Bernama
