The joy in giving

SYARIKAT Takaful Malaysia Berhad recently presented two cheques, each amounting to RM10,000, to two charity homes – Yayasan Sunbeams and Rumah Charis. The generous donation was made in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

Takaful Malaysia chief operating officer Leem Why Chong and chief information officer Patrick Wong were both present to personally hand the cheques out. Representing Rumah Charis was its chairman and founder Reverend Teo How Ken while the cheque for Yayasan Sunbeams was received by the home’s event coordinator Yaw Sook Ngan.

Following the formalities and benevolent contributions, Takaful Malaysia handed out ang pow to all the children present at the event.

To express their gratitude and show appreciation, the children of Rumah Charis put on a lively performance, which put a smile on everyone’s face. A scrumptious breakfast followed.

Said Leem, at the event, “It is truly wonderful that we can have this event today to share the joy and happiness with all these children.

As a major and leading Islamic insurance company, we have a lot of customers from all races, hence this is the perfect opportunity for us to share the success we achieved and contribute by giving back to the community."

Leem added that the donations will be channelled to cover school costs for the children. Takaful Malaysia’s business model is founded on the principles of Shariah and adopts the Wakalah contract. For more information, visit
