Lexis Hotel Group fetes 18 old folks in conjunction with CNY

PORT DICKSON: Eighteen senior citizens from Rumah Sejahtera Jimah, Lukut, here, were today feted by Lexis Hotel Group, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
Lexis Hotel Group president, Mandy Chew Siok Cheng said the event was part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
"It is to bring them cheer and enjoyment in conjunction with Chinese New Year, which will be celebrated next Friday. This CSR programme is one of the hotel's efforts to be with the elderly and share with them the festive spirit and joy.
"It is our responsibility to give back to the community. When life has provided us with great success and financial gains, we should not forget the less fortunate who without our help, struggle in their lives," she told reporters, here, today.
Also present at the event were hotel manager of Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, Simon Tan Chu Kian and the chairman of Rumah Sejahtera Jimah, Lukut, M. Perumal.
Chiew also gave out 'ang pow' to the home's residents on behalf of Lexis Hotel Group and her personal contribution to the home.
Rumah Sejahtera Jimah, Lukut, was established in 1968 and currently provides shelter for 18 old folks. — Bernama
