Lorry driver burnt to death in road crash

    KOTA KINABALU: A lorry driver was burnt to death when his vehicle burst into flames after it skidded and plunged into a ravine at Jalan Ranau-Telupi, near Kampung Nabutan, Ranau, today.
    However, the identity of the victim in the 6.30am crash has yet to be ascertained.
    Ranau Fire and Rescue Station chief Jimmy Lagung said the station received a distress call at 6.43am, following which six firemen in an engine rushed to the scene.
    "On arrival, the firemen saw a lorry which was laden with oil palm on fire. The victim was found burnt after work to shift the lorry was completed at 1pm," he said when contacted.
    He said the remains was handed over to the police for further action. — Bernama
