It said in a statement that Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman would lead Malaysia's delegation to the fourth-edition meeting of the global coalition which will gather all its 74 partners.
The Global Coalition against ISIS/Daesh was formed in September 2014 based on the global concern over Daesh and the threat it poses to international peace and security.
"The participation of the Foreign Minister (Anifah) at the Ministerial Meeting of Global Coalition against ISIS/Daesh reaffirms Malaysia's resolute support of the Global Coalition's efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism," said at Wisma Putra.
Wisma Putra said Anifah would speak on the current concerns posed by Daesh from the national and regional perspectives at the meeting, as well as the challenges and best practices in countering terrorism and violent extremism.
"He will also advocate Malaysia's concept of moderation or wasatiyyah, which is fundamentally crucial in the efforts to counter the heinous and abhorrent acts of violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," it said.
According to Wisma Putra, the meeting, which will be hosted by Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, was aimed at intensifying the campaign to defeat Daesh.
