SUNGEI BULOH: Shoppers at an upmarket grocery store in Sierramas here were stunned when a gunman opened fire during a robbery with an accomplice late this morning.
The gunman and an accomplice, both who wore full-face helmets, arrived at the supermarket on a motorcycle at about 11.30am.
They went up to the store's cashiers before the gunman fired two shots into the air.
Sungei Buloh police chief Supt S. Somu said the robbers grabbed two cash drawers containing about RM4,000 from the till and snatched the wallet of a customer who was paying for his purchases at the time.
He said there were three cashiers and an unarmed security guard on duty during the incident.
Somu said forensics police personnel found two spent bullet shells at the scene.
He said the customer who was robbed is yet to lodge a police report.
He said checks on the registration plate of a Yamaha motorcycle used by the robbers showed it was false.
Somu urged those with information on the robbers to contact the nearest police station.
