Lim has had enough of BN's complaints

GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has had enough of certain Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders and their incessant questioning of the RM6.3 billion undersea tunnel project and its three main highways.
With the Chinese New Year festival around the corner, Lim said he did not want to be dragged into the issue anymore.
"I feel there is no constructive statement delivered by BN but instead they keep 'jumping from one issue to another'," Lim stated.
He said the state was growing tired of this and would not want to continue to "play this game" with the ruling coalition anymore. From now they will not respond unless BN, especially MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, could prove certain allegations that they have made.
"No point in rebutting fake news or new false allegations," Lim said at a press conference as he read out a prepared statement which was distributed to the media.
Among the allegations Lim listed included any kickbacks involved, no sabotage by BN leaders, agreements not stamped, especially legal commitments by contractors and claiming payment made to tunnel contractor.
The tunnel project is expected to connect Gurney Drive on the island to Bagan Ajam on the mainland, while the three paired road projects are slated to alleviate traffic congestion on the island.
The contentious issue between both have dragged on for weeks after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) launched its investigations.
Since then, both state and BN have been at loggerheads over the issue and have traded words.
Lim hoped the project could go through smoothly as it is for the benefit and interest of Penangites to resolve the years of worsening traffic congestion, especially during major festivals and holidays.
