YOU can now have your cake and eat it too, or rather, have your rice and eat it too, with Quaker Oats for Rice adding a healthy dose of whole grains to reunion dinners and open houses this Chinese New Year.
The 'Share the Oats, Share the Ong' campaign that will run until Feb 28 offers guiltless pleasure this festive period by sharing brand-new recipes to complement the two hearty grains.
Shaiful Bahari, the Mahpar, Apim communications & citizenship director for Asia Pacific Region, PepsiCo International, said: “By just incorporating one small change and adding Oats for Rice [to] reunion dinners, we can add an additional source of fibre and protein in our meals.
“We have developed new recipes especially for Chinese New Year, to give home cooks a good start in using Quaker Oats for Rice."
Meant to be cooked with rice, the fortified bowl of goodness will make the perfect base for these new Quaker recipes, like Dark Sauce Chicken with Mushrooms in a Pot, Hokkien Yam Rice, and Tomato Seafood Rice.
Quaker Oats for Rice is made with whole-rolled Australian oats, and is bursting with dietary fibre, protein, and magnesium; which means, you get to indulge more in festive goodies.
Shaiful added: “These recipes supplement the existing recipes on our website which demonstrate how our other products such as Instant Oatmeal and Quick Cook Oatmeal can be used daily in a wide variety of dishes, so families can enjoy all the benefits of oats while they feast in joy together.”
The Chinese New Year Gift Pack – a 1kg jar of Instant/Quick Cook Oats, a 600g pack of Oats for Rice, and a free Chinese New Year-themed glass jar – is available from selected hypermarkets and supermarkets across the nation.
