Police nab three, seize drugs worth over RM1.7m

MUAR: Police detained three men and seized 25.5kg of liquid believed to be syabu (methamphetamine) worth more than RM1.7 million in a raid at a house in Bakri here yesterday.
Muar district police chief ACP Zaharudin Rasip said in the 1 pm raid, the liquid was found in two pails and tested positive for drugs.
"Two of the trio, all of whom aged between 35 and 43, had criminal records for drug-related offences while the other suspect is clean from any record.
"The drugs are estimated to be worth over RM1.7 million based on the market price which is currently about RM70,000 per kg," he said in a statement here today.
Zaharudin said the police also found 0.86g of heroin and 16 Erimin 5 pills.
Also seized were a BMW car and RM250 in cash, he said.
Zaharudin said all the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
They were being remanded until Feb 19 to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he added. — Bernama
