Ajinomoto to buy land in Tabung Haji development for RM86.1m

PETALING JAYA: Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd proposes to purchase land in Techpark@Enstek Negeri Sembilan from Lembaga Tabung Haji and THP Enstek Development Sdn Bhd for RM86.1 million cash, to build a new manufacturing facility.
A sale and purchase agreement was signed with Tabung Haji and THP Enstek for the land. The area was valued at RM41 a square foot on Feb 6, 2018 by an independent registered valuer, Messrs Jordan Lee & Jaafar Sdn. Bhd. The purchase price inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) is slightly lower than the valuation, which would have come up to RM88.2 million with GST.
According to its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the property is currently overgrown with trees and bushes with undulating terrain.
The group’s stock closed up 34 sen to RM19.96 with some 27,600 shares changing hands.
